Exient EDI: The Start of Our Journey

Exient EDI: The Start of Our Journey

We’re proud that Exient is already an inclusive and welcoming workplace for all groups and individuals. Much has been done within our studios and in the wider games industry in Diversity & Inclusion, but we know that there’s more still to be done.

For this reason, we’re delighted to reveal that we are launching an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion programme here, and we’re calling it —

Exient EDI

Our aim is to establish a structured programme over the coming months to ensure that we have steps and goals in place to support everyone within the Exient studios; to attract more individuals from under-represented groups to join the teams here; and to showcase to the wider industry and community our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion.

Our starting point has been to set up a steering group. Together we will be leading the EDI programme, but we are inviting anyone else from the company to join us, and to have an input in the programme.

Next up, we will be carrying out a survey of our staff to gauge their views and to allow us to benchmark our starting point. We will share our findings in a later blog.

From there, we aim to look at all our policies and current practices across the whole of the company – from recruitment and interviewing, to the content of our games – and plan to focus on each area in turn.

Ultimately, we want to create a workforce that reflects the audience for our games; we want to support everyone within our studios, whatever their gender, background, sexuality or race; and we’d like to share our journey and learnings with you along the way.
